About Garybuie

Garybuie

Garybuie

Garybuie (An Garradh Buidhe) is the name of our house and is  gaelic for ‘Yellow Garden’. There’s an old laburnum tree at the front of the property and large numbers of daffodils in the spring which presumably are jointly responsible for the name. The original house was built in 1931 on the fourth croft in Balmeanach, Glenhinnisdal. It’s a traditional croft house and we’ve tried to keep it that way as much as possible, although there have been some more ‘modern’ additions over the years.

A welcome from our permanent resident!

A welcome from our permanent resident!

First and foremost, Garbuie is our home and home life for us includes many outdoor interests too, including  growing vegetables and rearing chickens and ducks. We also provide bed and breakfast on a small scale.

goodness, thankyou! I love to visit your site too, although less frequently in the summer unfortunately because of the B and B thing. We close at the end of this month though so I shall be pleased to become a regular visitor once more!

I came upon your site by chance and loved your blog, paintings and photographs. I have recently retired and taken up painting and would like to use your photographs as inspiration for work but need to ask your permission first. You live in a really beautiful place, no wonder you are so inspired.
