The Misty Isle

It’s been hot and sticky these past few days here on the Isle of Skye and for the last two days, it has lived up to its name of The Misty Isle. Well, foggy actually! Yesterday, while setting tables for breakfast, I couldn’t see beyond the garden’s perimeter…

…the sun struggling to break through the dense, foggy barrier…

But as the morning moved on, the sun prevailed, dispersing and shifting the mist, revealing momentary glimpses of blue sky or hillside.

At one point, there was a localised bank of mist pouring over the ridge, looking for all the world like a massive cascading waterfall. The photograph doesn’t do justice to the beauty of it.
