Things to do on a hot day at Garybuie

There’s one person at least who’s going to snort with derision if she reads this post! In Garybuie’s defense however, we are on the same latitude as Alaska and 30 degrees in the shade has possibly been unheard of on the Isle of Skye in May, or at any other time for that matter! But that was the temperature reached on Saturday and it’s been not much below that since, causing wilting all ’round, especially the human inhabitants! But here are a few things which I found the other residents doing either to keep, or just look cool!

Just a few ewes and lambs across the road managed to find a shady rowan tree…

…a cool drink in the shade…

…foraging in mum’s shadow…

…taking the kids for a walk in the shade…

…Huff preens and tries to make himself look cool to impress his currently disinterested ladies…

…just as contrary as ever, Hamie had to sunbathe…

…9-week-old chicks enjoying the dappled shade…

…aylesbury ducklings staying cool by the pool…

…looking for some female company in the shade. Where are those girls?…

…here, bathing in the shade…

… feline shaded in the foliage…

…reading a book under the shade of the cherry tree was the only thing for me on a Sunday afternoon…
