A welcome splash of colour

We’re back to grey and dreary on the weather front, but reasonably mild at around 8 degrees C. Kevin pointed out a splash of welcome colour yesterday; a small clump of purple crocuses amidst all the snowdrops, which are now in full bloom. There used to be a lot more crocuses but unlike the snowdrops, they don’t seem to appreciate being regularly scratched up by chickens! So this is the largest group we have now, the one other having only two blooms. The snowdrops however are stunning, even with their less dramatic colouring. I’m not fooled into thinking that spring’s around the corner though, because as you can see, the daffodils still have a long way to go …

    Your flowers are coming along, we have nothing yet really. It is grey and dreary here too. i find this kind of weather the hardest to deal with. it sits on me like a lump!.. c
