Water, water, everywhere!

Saturday could only be described as a washout, literally. We had light rain, heavy rain and at one point what seemed to be a cloud-burst, the only good thing was that all three varieties were vertical – unusual for Skye – and so not quite ‘in your face’! The surrounding land couldn’t handle the persistant precipitation as the water table is just about as high as it can get after a particularly soggy October. Consequently, the land got wetter and wetter and….

Of course everyone at Garybuie had their own way of dealing with the deluge. Huff headed for bed…

The Muscovy family dabbled delightedly around the perimeter of the new water feature…

MacRae and his girls just enjoyed the new swimming facilities…

 

As for me, I decided to ignore the weather and plan for future festivities by making my Christmas cake and pudding. Both are now wrapped, along with a generous dose of brandy to help them mature!

And at the end of such a damp day, the rest of the Garybuie residents found their own dry, warm place…
