Tartan and toast!

The Highlands and Islands of Scotland hold a wealth of wonderful sights, most being of the landscape variety. However, a close runner-up to the awesome Scottish scenery surely has to be a man in a kilt – a least from a feminine point of view! We’ve lived on Skye for more than eight years now and this week was the first time that we’ve had a kilted man in our home – even if he was Spanish!

First kilt at Garybuie!

Our four visitors from Madrid certainly seemed to be very relaxed on their  holiday, undeterred by the pouring rain on their arrival.  But our kilted guest seemed determined to immerse himself totally into the whole Scottish experience, not just in his attire but also his breakfast! While his travelling companions enjoyed a light meal of toast and preserves, he opted for the full traditional Scottish breakfast, including black pudding and haggis, which most of our continental visitors avoid. AND he cleared his plate!

We’re pleased to say that the sun shone for their departure!
