Family wedding!

No blogging for the past few days I’m afraid as we had an important engagement elsewhere – our eldest son’s wedding! Matthew was married to Sarah on Friday the 15th May, with our youngest son Andy as Best Man,  at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel near Chester.

Poor Matthew didn’t sleep much the night before suffering from nervous knot syndrome I think! A hearty breakfast helped slightly and once his beautiful bride arrived by his side he seemed a happier man – only slight dithers remaining in anticipation of the speeches!

The whole ceremony ran smoothly and although on one hand it was an obviously serious event, there were several light hearted moments which calmed everyone’s nerves!

The weather was kind too, quite warm and the rain of the previous night disappearing, only returning after all the outdoor photography was completed! The reception was wonderful –  both the food and service were exceptional. ‘Nervous knot syndrome’ decided to remind the relevent men on the top table that it hadn’t quite finished with them yet – or Sarah! – until the small matter of the speeches had been resolved!

No need to worry though as all three went really well, lots of nice bits – but plenty of laughs too! Although Andy gave everyone a few insights into some of Matthew’s lesser known amusing traits, he didn’t say anything that would warrant payback whe their rolls are reversed in September!

All in all the day was wonderful, finishing off with dancing and even more food! The bride was beautiful, the bridesmaids striking and all the men in the wedding party looked so handsome!

This is the first dance by the new Mr & Mrs Delaney. Sorry if you get a stiff neck watching it but I haven’t worked out how to flip the image to a more user friendly angle! Any useful suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
