We’re back on Skye now with the wind howling and the rain pouring! I actually wrote this post on our last evening down south but obviously forgot to hit the ‘publish’ button! So, somewhat belatedly, here is my last post from our trip south.
It was a busy time on for the last few days, visiting Matt and Sarah and our rapidly growing twin grandchildren, Holly and Jake. The weather was freezing but we still got out each day for a walk, making use for the first time of two new backpacks for the wee ones. Holly seemed happy to be guinea pig while dad and grandad figured out the subtle workings of the new piece of kit (they were far more basic in our day!)
It looks as though Jake is saying, “Do I have to go through all that Granny Skye?”
It was all worth it in the end though.
Especially for Holly when grandad took her to check out the local flora!
And our week ended with the celebration of the twins’ first birthday. (already?!!!)

Lovely time, yes, but exhausting too! Glad to return to the peace and quiet of the glen!

Aw, Christine, it must have been very difficult tearing yourself away from all four of these sweethearts! What gorgeous babes!

I don’t know Amy, we’re out of baby practice at our age so it’s a bit of a shock to the system! Great fun though and we’ll be heading back south at the end of the BandB season to see how they’re progressing. Meanwhile, Matt, Sarah and the twins are coming to stay with us in May, so I’m reall excited about showing the kiddies around the place!
